Ken Duckworth will be part of a panel discussion including individuals who he interviewed for the NAMI book “You Are Not Alone.” This event is the second in a two-part series with Ken. The first part was in January and the video of this is on the DBSA Boston website. Come and hear first-hand the mental health journeys of a sample group of individuals from the book.
Bio of Presenter
Ken Duckworth, M.D., is the chief medical officer of the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) and has worked with NAMI since 2003. Ken is board certified in adult psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry, and is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He was previously acting commissioner and medical director at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. He has also worked in a variety of community-based mental health programs and is the author of the recently published book “You Are Not Alone – The NAMI Guide to Navigating Mental Health With Advice from Experts and Wisdom from Real People and Families.” Written with insight and compassion, Ken has created an invaluable resource for individuals and families seeking expert guidance on diagnosis, treatment and recovery, featuring inspiring, true stories from real people in their own words.
