Please join us in a conversation about aging and mental health. Three panelists will participate – Ana Trueba-Yepez, a mental health provider whose work focuses on the geriatric population; as well as two peers with lived experience – Judy Freedman and Dana-Zoe Gest, both from DBSA Boston. This event will focus on this topic from both professional and personal, real-life perspectives.
SPEAKER BIOS
Ana Trueba Yepez, PhD, is a clinical psychologist in the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at McLean Hospital and an instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She focuses on cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and the integration of mindfulness into treatment. Dr. Trueba Yepez received her undergraduate degree in neuroscience from Trinity University, followed by a Master’s in clinical psychology and a PhD in the same field, both from Southern Methodist University.
Judy Freedman has had bipolar disorder for most of her adult life. She was a registered nurse for most of her career. She has lived in Massachusetts her entire life. She enjoys reading, playing bridge, and spending time with friends.
Dana-Zoe Gest is a senior, living in Chicago, the city of Big Shoulders, and called Boston home for 17 years. She is an artist, poet, and photographer; her first book of poetry, “20/20 a Pandemic Journal,” is available on Amazon, and her artwork/poetry are on Facebook and Instagram. She also has an Etsy shop – DanaZoeGest. She has two grown children and loves cats. She loves thunderstorms, walking, and writing stories of growing up in the mountains of Pennsylvania.
