Come and hear a first-person account of a lifelong journey with bipolar disorder. Deb Francis has lived with bipolar disorder for forty years. She recently wrote her memoir, Discomfort in the Manic Mind, in which she shares much detail about her life and her mental health challenges. She shares her vulnerability, her trauma, her medication challenges, her experiences with stigma, and challenges associated with maintaining relationships and employment. Her message is inspirational and provides hope for others coping with bipolar disorder or other mental health challenges.
SPEAKER BIO
Deb Francis is the author of “Discomfort in the Manic Mind”, her memoir about her life with bipolar disorder. This includes her multiple hospitalizations, the challenges, the stigma, family dynamics, trauma, and genetic predisposition. Writing this book has helped with her own self-development and recovery. She has learned to embrace her diagnosis courageously, and her perseverance and hope are quite inspirational.
