NAMIWalks 2024

NAMI Walks Massachusetts – May 18, 2024, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Parkman Bandstand at the Boston Common

NAMIWalks was a huge success. We had 40 participants. As of May 26, we have raised $10,652. Donations will be accepted till June 30. The money raised is so that all of the programs that run free of charge will be able to continue.

May 18 was a wonderful day to get together for the walk, which was held for the first time at the Boston Common. What a great turnout! Our team had a great presence at the walk. Many old friends stopped by, as well as new people who wanted to know about our groups.

I want to thank everyone from our team, our donors, and a very big thank you to Caitlin and Meach for being the best co-captains. I would also like to thank Dee Feeba and Tom Scurfield for allowing us to walk under the affiliate NAMI Central Middlesex. Together we can continue to fight stigma for those individuals as well as their families dealing with mental health issues. I do need to thank my godchild Hiruit also, who has helped us on walk day for the last 9 years. She started helping when she was 7 and is now 16. It’s never too young to help others.

DBSA and NAMI working together have made such a big difference in the cause of helping fight stigma. Together we have done so much, and we will continue to be there for those who need us.
